Curriculum
Daniela Vitiello is lecturer at Tuscia University (Viterbo, Italy), where she holds three courses: European Union Law (taught in Italian, 54 h), Human Mobility, asylum and border management (taught in English, 54 h) and EU Migration and Asylum Law (taught in Italian, 18 h). Qualified as Associate Professor of EU Law (National Scientific Habilitation 2021), she is also researcher of EU Law in the same university, delegate of the Dean for “Innovations for Quality Education”, delegate of the course of study for elective activities and placement, co-coordinator of the Academy of Law and Migration (www.migrazionieuropadiritto.it/adim), and co-coordinator of the project “UNITUS4Refugees”. Within the framework of the activities of the Jean Monnet Centre on the Integration of Migrants in Europe (www.intome.eu), which has been activated at Tuscia University in 2020, Dr Vitiello is the scientific coordinator of the yearly Summer Training School, in charge of organising the three editions of the outreach workshop titled “Have your say”, member of the scientific committee of the yearly Doctoral Colloquia held in Lampedusa and of the final conference of the project (European Parliament, June 2023). Daniela is managing editor of the journal European Papers, member of the scientific committee of the journal Roma Tre Law Review, member of the Editorial Committee of SIDIblog and ADiM Blog, and scientific supervisor of the case law bulletin of AISDUE. Since 2018 she has been co-convenor of the Interest Group on Migration and Refugee Law of the European Society of International Law (ESIL). From 2017 to 2019 Daniela was postdoctoral researcher in EU Law and lecturer of European Cultural Heritage Legislation at the University of Florence, where she has been actively involved in two projects funded by the European Commission (e-NACT and RoSaE). In 2017 Daniela was invited as senior visiting fellow at the University of Bern, within the framework of a research project funded by the Swiss Center of Competence in Research. From 2015 to 2017, Dr. Vitiello was postdoctoral research fellow in EU Law at “Roma Tre” University. From 2012 to 2017 she was teaching assistant of EU Law and EU Migration Law at LUISS “Guido Carli” (Rome) and University of Perugia. Dr. Vitiello studied International law and EU law in Rome (LUISS, Sapienza), Durham (2008) and The Hague (2012), before obtaining her Doctorate from Sapienza University of Rome (2014). Daniela published a monograph titled The External Borders of the European Union (Cacucci 2020, in Italian) and specialized in the field of EU migration and asylum law, citizenship, fundamental rights, and the rule of law.
